Hi!

As you know I ordered a 48295 which has a lot of problems with the colouring. I´m gonna try paint it myself as I got it for half the price and Märklin can´t (or don´t want to) fix the car. What colour do I use? I mainly use Humbrol colours. It´s the red DB colours.

Is Isignia red, 153 too dark?

Hi David,

This URL will guide you to match any available model colour with any other model colour, and the RAL coordinates.

Just tick the boxes for the brand(s) you want.
The site takes a bit of "learning" but is worth it.

Thanks! Unfortunately I don´t know any retailer here in Sweden that sells colours from Testors. They do sell some other stuff from Testors. The Humbrol Ferrari red does look good enough. It differs by 30,64 though...

Hi David,all,
I only recommended the Testors enamel because it does match exactly the M/DB red,it also matches the Fleischmann models.
If you need some let me know.Sneaky Wink

I need to find out what paint matches the dark grey used on my ESU Br215 that sustained some paint damage.

Hi Bigdaddy,all,

>I need to find out what paint matches the dark grey used on my ESU Br215 that sustained some paint damage.<

Can find the RAL number? If not,it is a shading issue.Use white to lighen a color and black to darken a color.

Hi Kevin. The grey is at the bottom of this loco, where you can see the paint damage.

It's the ESU Br215. The loco was not properly secured in its box when being shipped to me and sustained this damage. The rear buffers were also broken off, and the pickup shoe was damaged as well.

Yep Kev, the old hand touch up job. I don't really want to spend heaps of time and money having it sent back to Germany. Lokshop have offered to send out a replacement pickup shoe, which also got damaged
